It renders anything that a modern browser can; HTML5, CSS3, JS, video and even WebGL. Its main purpose is to be run on a remote server and accessed via SSH\/Mosh or the in-browser HTML service in order to significantly reduce bandwidth and thus both increase browsing speeds and decrease bandwidth costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Browsh is available as a single static binary on all major platforms. The only dependency is a recent 57+ version of Firefox.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Someone had to make a similar feat using Chromium, creating <strong class=\"mr-2 flex-self-stretch\"><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/fathyb\/carbonyl\" data-pjax=\"#repo-content-pjax-container\" data-turbo-frame=\"repo-content-turbo-frame\">carbonyl<\/a><\/strong>, <em>Chromium running inside your terminal<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Carbonyl is a Chromium based browser built to run in a terminal. <a href=\"https:\/\/fathy.fr\/carbonyl\" rel=\"nofollow\">Read the blog post<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It supports pretty much all Web APIs including WebGL, WebGPU, audio and video playback, animations, etc..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s snappy, starts in less than a second, runs at 60 FPS, and idles at 0% CPU usage.
