I’ve been using WordPress to log all recordings at work, since ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems allows digital recordings since its 2008 release.<\/p>\n

One of the aspects where it currently is lacking is the policies for data conservations.<\/p>\n

You name it: backups.<\/p>\n

Actually it hasn’t been a real issue for quite a long time, since most of recording used to be generated… ehrm, on paper.<\/p>\n

Yes, on paper. Handling data on paper may have several drawbacks but have a real advantage: it’s far easier to store it securely. You just have to ensure that the office doesn’t catch fire or get flooded.<\/p>\n

Ok, it’s not as easy as it seems but paper is a little more widespread and understood by plain, non-tech people and employees.<\/p>\n

So our QMS, having been started more than twenty years ago still “thinks in term of paper”.<\/p>\n

Time has come to really turn it into something digital.<\/p>\n

As I’ve learned lately backup procedures must be operative before<\/strong> a service goes live, otherwise it’s only a matter of when you will be in dire situations.<\/p>\n
