When I got on the net<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>webmail didn&rsquo;t existed<\/li>\n<li>most people got email from their univerity or from their ISP,<\/li>\n<li>gratis email provider almost were non-existent<\/li>\n<li>people used POP3 since they were billed by the time they stayed online. IMAP usage arrived several years later<\/li>\n<li>SSH were embryonal.
