Let’s demand Free Software for public infrastructures!

I want to share here and endorse the post made by Jan Wildeboer on the Fediverse about “EU Eyes Banning Huawei, ZTE Corp From Mobile Networks of Member Countries“:

… Instead of banning, say, Chinese companies from delivering infrastructure components like the EU is pondering with Huawei and mobile networks, the ultimate goal should be to demand open source software/firmware for these components and reproducible builds of all software components so #DigitalSovereignty becomes default.

Fully open hardware as a stretch goal, if enough companies, governments, people support it

Free software on open hardware should be required for public infrastructures!

Public money, public code!
