Times Newer Roman

A font like Times New Roman, except each character is 5-10% wider.

Bummer, there are plenty of Serif fonts thata re wider than Times New Roman. Sorry Times Newer Roman, but Free Serif, Liberation Serif Ubuntu Sans, Leto, DejaVu Serif, almost all free-as-in-freedom serif fonts are wider and higher than the old Times…. 🙂

Script fonts

As I'm tidying up my notes I've found a little paper note. Five lines in total, labelled "script fonts". Here they are:

So here I am, writing it down on my little kitchen sink of a blog. As usual it is nice to provice some links, so I've been looking for them on the net.

The latter three are well known to me. In fact "Pacific" is a script font so similar to my cursive writing that when I first saw it I thought it was a scan of my own writing… well, sort of.

Looking for  The Unseen regular on Duck Duck Go  a link caught my attention. https://fonts2u.com/faq.html

Fonts available at Fonts2u are either GNU/GPL, Freeware, free for Personal use, Donationware, Shareware or Demo. Although we have indicated the license type, please make sure to double check it by reading the information shown in the details area of each font to avoid any confusion. If you are not sure, do not hesitate to contact the font author.

Well, Eureka!

Font: Typewriter Cursive

From Font: Typewriter Cursive | ‘i do’-it-yourself® well, I do feel exactly like the author of this page… this font reminds me of “Cammiamo insieme”, the small newsletter of my oratorio (sorry, no english version) of my childhood and the studying materials made by CUSL at Politecnico di Milano when it was in its old site, some underground rooms managed by students… cusl-polimi

If you actually want it you’ll find it at https://www.myfonts.com/fonts/bitstream/script-12-pitch/

I’ve grabbed a copy of it bt I’m not sure it’s safe to use publicly as it seems it is actively sold online by its copyright holder.

If you want a cursive typewriter font that may be more free-as-in-freedom you may download this Olympia Script (found on http://site.xavier.edu/polt/typewriters/olympiafonts.html):
