Here’s some aid-tables to solve trusses using the direct stiffness method which is by far the most used to solve arbitrary trusses due to some critical advantages over the flexibility method:
- the complexity of computation is not heavily influenced by the degree of hyperstaticity of the structure
- it can be computer-automated; it is the first known, widely used form of the techniques that evolved into the finite element method.
