Yet Another Reason to avoid Google

For my series “yet another reason to avoid x”… this time is Google’s turn

Nextcloud has accused Google of sabotaging its Android Files app by revoking the “All files access” permission, which the company says cripples functionality for its 824,000 users and forces reliance on limited alternatives like SAF and MediaStore.

I do use NextCloud everyday, mainly for contacts and calendar but seeing a GAFAM “giant” crippling free-as-in-freedom software makes me angry!

I am not affected as I mainly install applications using F-Droid, but it makes me more angry as this makes me suspect that those are subtle moves to maintain their monopoly
