Another reason to back alternative mobile OSes, such as PostmarketOS or Puri.sm PureOS. I hope that Android free-as-in-freedom distribution, lineageos.org and /e/ will deal with this arbitrary restriction in a user-friendly way.

Pole inversion?
NASA Is Tracking a Vast, Growing Anomaly in Earth’s Magnetic Field
A little sci-fi: does it mean Earth is starting its recurring pole invertion?
Ok Toyota, so I will never buy your cars
It’s good to know, Toyota: as long as you will patently violate the privacy of the owner of the cars you built I will avoid buying them and I will actively ask people to avoid you.
The question now is: how many of the other manufactures do the same?
Oh my lazyness!
Tomorrow as usual I found in my mail box reading suggestions. Among them
They reminded me that I shall restart my efforts on Liberty EIffel and Monodes… 🙁 I hope to integrate them in my current effort.
Fahrenheit 451, arriviamo…
China Is Now Blocking All Encrypted HTTPS Traffic That Uses TLS 1.3 and ESNI – Slashdot
China Is Now Blocking All Encrypted HTTPS Traffic That Uses TLS 1.3 and ESNI – Slashdot
The reason for the ban is obvious for experts. HTTPS connections negotiated via TLS 1.3 and ESNI prevent third-party observers from detecting what website a user is attempting to access. This effectively blinds the Chinese government’s Great Firewall surveillance tool from seeing what users are doing online.
So the question is: how can we help Chinese people to avoid the regime’s prying eyee?
LineageOS on Rednote 8T
Recently I bought a Xiami Rednote 8T. I was in dire need of something capable of running CamOnLive at Full HD and being in full lockdown it was the only choice available.
I actually used it for quite a while as an IP camera but that’s another story.
What it is important now is that I want to install Lineage OS. Well, actually I would rather install /e/ the privacy friendly OS, but be kind on me, I’ll take one step at a time, recompiling it all is just too much for my few spare time.
According to the Duck, there are plenty of guides on how to install it. Here’s one
